October 2026 Energy Update

October 2026 Energy Update

The Energies of October

October 2026 brings a breath of fresh air. This month invites us into deep reflection, meaningful connection, and transformation; we're encouraged to look beneath the surface, restore balance in relationships, and reconnect with what feels authentic. We are also reminded that change doesn't happen in isolation—when we release control and open ourselves to collaboration, our individual ripples can become powerful waves. Amidst all this movement, the Libra New Moon and Taurus Full Moon offer grounding moments to slow down, tend to our roots, and establish new foundations. Rather than resisting the transformation around us, we can use it as an invitation to create something more balanced, connected, and sustainable.

Major Themes this Month

Striking relational balance.

Key Dates: October 3rd, 23rd, 25th

October invites us to look beneath the surface of our relationships and get honest about where things may feel out of balance. With Venus moving retrograde through Libra, we may find ourselves noticing the resentments we've tucked away, the needs we've left unspoken, or the places where we've dimmed parts of ourselves to keep the peace. This is a time to gently ask: Where am I showing up authentically, and where am I giving more than I'm receiving? As Venus brings our relationships into deeper focus, we have an opportunity to see old patterns with fresh eyes and make space for greater honesty and reciprocity. Let this month be an invitation to create relationships where both people have room to be fully seen, heard, and themselves.

Creating change together.

Key Dates: October 10th, 15th, 16th

We are not meant to create everything alone. With Pluto moving forward in Aquarius, October invites us to consider our place within the communities, friendships, and collective spaces that shape our lives. What becomes possible when we loosen our grip on tightly held beliefs and open ourselves to perspectives beyond our own? There is power in bringing our individual gifts, ideas, and experiences together around something greater than ourselves. When we release the need to control the outcome, we make room for unexpected possibilities—and together, we can create waves of change that ripple much farther than we ever could alone.

Establishing new foundations.

Key Dates: October 10th, 25th, 26th

With so much movement and transformation unfolding around us, October invites us to find our center and create something steady to stand on. The Libra New Moon offers a chance to plant new seeds around balance, harmony, and the kind of life and relationships we want to cultivate. As the month unfolds, the Taurus Full Moon reminds us to slow down, return to our bodies, and reconnect with the simple things that make us feel safe, grounded, and supported. We don't have to have everything figured out before we begin building a new foundation—we simply need to start with what feels true and sustainable. Let the world around you transform while you tend to your roots, trusting that stability doesn't mean standing still; it means creating a strong enough foundation to grow from.

Activating the Heart Chakra

The heart chakra (Anahata), located at the center of the chest, is the energy center of giving and receiving love. An open heart allows us to form deeper connections, nurture healthy relationships, and experience a sense of inner peace and emotional balance. When this energy center becomes blocked, we may struggle with trust, fear of vulnerability, or difficulty expressing love. Activating the heart chakra invites us to soften our defenses, practice compassion for ourselves and others, and create space for both giving and receiving. This month, consider where you can bring more balance, openness, and authenticity into your relationships while staying rooted in your own truth. Through heart-opening movement, breathwork, meditation, and intentional connection, we can create a stronger foundation from which to grow, connect, and move through change with greater ease.

Yoga Asana for the Heart

  • Trikonasana (Triangle Pose)

    • Stand with your back against a wall, feet wide and toes turned slightly inward. Turn one foot parallel to the wall and keep the other angled about 45 degrees. Extend your arms into a T and reach forward over your front leg, keeping your back connected to the wall. When you can’t reach any farther, gently lower your front hand to your shin and press your back into the wall, allowing your shoulders to stack. Gaze forward or up toward your top hand, close your eyes if comfortable, and breathe deeply as you soften through the chest and heart space. Stay for several breaths, then rise slowly and switch sides.
  • Salamba Bhujangasana (Sphinx Pose)

    • Lie on your belly with your legs extended long behind you and the tops of your feet resting down. Place your forearms parallel to one another, elbows stacked beneath your shoulders, palms facing down. Keep your gaze forward or gently lower your head to release the back of your neck. Press your forearms firmly into the ground and breathe deeply into your heart space, allowing the chest to soften and open. Stay for several slow breaths.
  • Salabasana (Locust Pose)

    • Lie on your belly with your legs extended long behind you. Zip your legs together, bring the big toes to touch, and energize through the inner thighs. Rest your arms alongside your body with your forehead or chin on the ground, then reach your arms behind you and clasp your hands. On an inhale, lift your head and chest while drawing your shoulders and palms toward one another; if it feels supportive, float your legs off the ground. Stay for several slow breaths, then gently release and rest your forehead on stacked forearms, rocking your hips from side to side to release through the low back.

Mudra for the Heart

Anjali Mudra, or prayer hands, is a beautiful gesture to open and activate the heart chakra. Placing palms together at the center of the chest, lift the heart up to meet thumbs and breathe deeply. This sacred Mudra works to balance the right and left hemispheres of the brain and connects us to our center so we can come back to a sense of wholeness within.

Pranayama (breathwork) for the Heart

Place palms on top of the chest, soften your gaze and begin to direct your awareness to the center of your heart. Begin by breathing in deeply for the count of 4, hold your breath at the top for a count of 7, and exhale completely out of the mouth for a count of 8. Continue to follow the 4-7-8 breath. As you breathe deeply, visualize in your mind’s eye an emerald green light emanating from your heart space, expanding with each inhale to open the heart.

Crystals to Support you this Month

  • Rose Quartz

    • Rose Quartz is often associated with unconditional love, compassion, and emotional softness, making it a natural companion for heart chakra work. This month, it can support us in opening to deeper connection while remaining gentle with ourselves and others. Its energy invites us to soften defenses, practice vulnerability, and cultivate relationships rooted in love rather than fear.
  • Jade

    • Jade has long been associated with harmony, balance, and emotional steadiness. It can be a beautiful ally as we navigate October's shifting energies, helping us stay grounded while remaining open to growth and change. For the heart chakra, jade invites us to find a sense of inner stability that allows us to connect with others without losing ourselves.
  • Rhodonite

    • Rhodonite is traditionally connected with emotional healing, compassion, forgiveness, and the restoration of balance within relationships. It can support us in looking honestly at old wounds or patterns while choosing a more conscious way of relating to ourselves and others. This makes it especially fitting for October's invitation to release what no longer serves us and create relationships and foundations rooted in mutual care and authenticity.

Herbs to Support you this Month

  • Basil

    • Basil is traditionally associated with love, protection, abundance, and the cultivation of harmonious relationships. Its bright, uplifting qualities make it a beautiful herb for opening the heart while encouraging us to welcome connection and reciprocity into our lives. This month, let basil remind you that healthy relationships can nourish us, support our growth, and help us create something greater together.
  • Rose

    • Rose is one of the most beloved herbs for heart-centered practices, traditionally associated with love, compassion, beauty, and emotional healing. Its gentle energy invites us to soften our defenses and become more willing to both give and receive love. As we explore the deeper layers of our relationships this month, rose can remind us that vulnerability is not weakness—it is one of the pathways through which genuine connection grows.
  • Lavender

    • Lavender is widely valued for its calming and soothing qualities, making it a beautiful ally when we need to create a little more space and peace within ourselves. Its gentle presence can support us in releasing tension, finding emotional balance, and approaching relationships from a more grounded place. As October brings transformation and change, lavender reminds us that we can soften without losing our boundaries and remain rooted while everything around us shifts.

New Moon Ritual

On the night of the new moon, set your intentions. In a medium bowl, whisk together powdered milk, baking soda, and salt. Repeat your intention while mixing. Add carrier oil and honey (optional), stirring well until thoroughly blended, repeating your intention. Gently add in the dried herbs, sending gratitude to the plants for their healing properties. Add essential oils while whisking for even distribution. Pour into a running bath and enjoy. As you soak, imagine the water absorbing any worry, self-doubt, or stagnant energy ready to be released from within. When draining the bath, imagine old energy leaving with the water.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup Powdered Milk (whole milk, coconut, or buttermilk powder)
  • ¼ cup Epsom salt or Mineral salt
  • ⅛ cup Baking soda
  • 2 tbsp Dried flowers (Lavender, Rose, Chamomile, or Calendula)
  • 2 tsp Carrier oil (Sweet Almond, Jojoba, or Coconut Oil)
  • 1 tsp Raw honey (optional, for extra moisturizing)
  • 10 drops Essential oil (Lavender, Rose, Citrus, etc.)
